PIAD is a system for playing guitar and ukelele. PIAD means Play In A Day. And it is true. You can learn to play in a day. The purpose of this site is to tell you everything about PIAD. PIAD fits into standard music theory. It does not violate any basic rules of music. Rather it exploits basic rules of music to enable a musician to more easily finger the fretboard:
- to reach normal results in playing chords; that is to say, the pressing of string positions determined by fret locations to effectively fix the lengths of strings to produce selected note sounds. Fixing a precise momentary note on each of the strings (4 on the ukelele and 6 on the guitar) establishes and accomplishes with the combination of the notes the sounding of a particular chord(s)
- to enable a sequence of chords to be played more rapidly and precisely than can be accomplished by previously established, standard, finger positions
- to enable the more rapid playing of chords as though they are notes; that is to say a rapid chording of melody
